Joevell Arnold took his first-ever computer science (CS) class through TEALS. Now he is teaching artificial intelligence and coding to everyone from elementary-aged kids to professional basketball players.
Persistence in tech
Arabia took her first ever CS course in high school, it sparked interest to go on to study CS and Studio Art at Smith College. After graduation Arabia founded Politics on the Go, a civic engagement tech startup, and a collective, Da Cypher. She's also a Venture for America Fellow and works as a Project Manager at a tech company. It all started with one CS course!
A student identified the need for a digital tool
Patrick Wilson, a CS student at Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB), developed a time-saving app. After a semester of learning python in his TEALS CS course, Patrick coded a screen-scraper. This app sends a daily lunch menu directly to subscribed classmates' phones.
