Before School Starts

Teams should be continuing to meet, either in-person or virtually, to prepare for the first weeks of school. Complete the Classroom Plan and begin planning your first few classes.

Teams will have their second check-in with their RM soon. Co-teach teams will be asked to do a Mock Teach as part of this check-in. More on that later in training.

Volunteers should work with their classroom teacher to make sure all start-of-school logistics are taken care of. This often includes things like school background checks, getting school IDs, getting parking passes, determining sign-in/out procedures, etc.

Training Status Check

Pre-session 2 Canvas homework should have already been completed. There will be a couple more assignments post-session 2.

TEALS Forums

Volunteers will soon be added to the TEALS forums, which are a great resource for sharing ideas and seeking advice from other members of the TEALS community (staff, mentors, and other teaching teams) around the country.

Summer Training #3: Kickoff Event

The School Year Kickoff event will take place near the end of the summer. This is a combination final training session, social event, and celebration featuring a Q&A panel with experienced TEALS teachers and volunteers.
